I find it really useful to run the Spark graphs and reports, as they give me a long-term visual of the changes. A line, steadily marching downward, as I get smaller and lighter, rather than getting distracted or discouraged by daily fluctuations.

I use to try and force myself to use the eliptical machine and the treadmill. I did this because I knew it burned more calories and would be better for me than just walking. Well, I could rarely force myself to do it and would constantly just stop working out all together. Then I realized that those machines would could burn more calories BUT I would actually have to use them! So, I decided to just do what I enjoy... walking around the block... If your weight loss has slowed or stalled, try looking at the Calorie Differential Over Time report. It may show that your daily calories have crept up, or that you've let the amount or intensity of exercise drop. Look at the Calorie Differential Report weekly numbers to follow the trends.
To access the report, go to "My Tools", then select "Reports". On the right hand side of the second row is "Calorie Differential Over Time". Note that the orange section, the Basal Metabolism Rate, is a function of your weight. As you lose weight, it will also fall.
Learn how to ignore the ups and downs of weight fluctuation. Weigh yourself every day, and use a moving average to compute a trend line. Your weight may fluctuate by 5 or more pounds per day, and your true weight loss will be lost in this fluctuation. A moving trend line makes your loss/gain clear!
Do a Google search for "the hackers diet" to learn about moving trend lines.
The following site takes the effort out of computing the moving trend.
