For birthdays and holidays I make my own wrapping paper with some stamps, earth-friendly ink and recycled light colored packing paper. A great way to personalize the gifts, and a great way to get kids involved in both recycling and gift giving :)

Take advantage of those charities in the malls that will wrap your gift(s) for a small donation. If you wrap the way I do, you take EVERY opportunity to have someone else wrap your gifts. If a store offers free gift wrapping, I take advantage of it. But it's really great to have use a charity to wrap your gift for you. The charity gets money, and your gift looks lovely!
To avoid having too many calories within easy reach, why not make several mini cakes and freeze them. By the time you take one out of the freezer and thaw it the urge may have passed!
