We all know our big goal. To get there, I think it's imperative to have a series of small, reachable goals that we can hit at least once a month. Make them specific but not 'hard'. Ex: work out every day - hard; effective work out 3 times this week - easy. 2# this week-hard. 5# this month-easy

Then when you reach the goal, celebrate. Here is a list of non-food rewards you can give yourself. Some cost $, some don't: A walk in the woods, a new book, a scented candle, flowers-have them delivered to work with a congratulations balloon, a bubble bath, a massage or manicure, see a movie
