I keep two lists. One is "Things to do when I'm bored," which is often the source of emotional eating for me. The list contains things like get a manicure, pick a chore, take a shower or hot bath, exercise, read a good book, etc.
My second list is my project list. AND for bigger projects, I break it down into smaller pieces underneath that, so I can at least get PART of a project completed and feel like I've done something.
These lists help motivate me in more ways than one!
I have a master list which also has long-term projects on it. Then I use 3x5 cards to break the list down into what I can REASONABLY do in a day. So instead of having 4-5 pages, I have maybe 8-10. The sense of accomplishment is amazing! Once the list is done I can choose to play without guilt 41
If weekends are hard for you because you're around the house more, make a list of projects or things you'd like to get done. Rather than raiding the kitchen, you'll feel better about yourself AND be productive at the same time crossing off your list!
