I know that I am only new to sparkpeople, I have lost weight before, now I am 50lbs away from my goal. But I never forget the feeling that I get when I have reached a goal, simple as it may be. I give myself a pat in the back every morning and get a fresh breath of air. New day, new beginning.

It seems I am always wanting to put food in my mouth because I am either hungry or just out of pure habit. So what I have been doing is eating a whole head (yep) of lettuce a day. This helped me out incredibly. I get full from the water in the lettuce and crunch helps me know I ate.
I add a little salad dressing and some crackers (under 100 cals) so it's not all one note.
If I am really wanting something like a treat or a particularly high calorie meal, I always try to track it first. Sometimes just punching in those numbers along with everything else I plan to eat will make me change my mind if all of my nutrients won't add up right because of it, and I find myself choosing something else.. And other times it fits into my plan just right and I can go and eat it guilt free!! Tracking ahead helps you made smart decisions! 3
When I am really wanting a certain type of unhealthy meal, I google healthier versions of the meal, or see what I can substitute to make it something I can eat. Of course, I LOVE sparkrecipes.com, but I also keep an eye out while reading my Health magazine. You can pretty much eat anything with special attention to the details!
