I use apps such as SplashShopper or List Pro to maintain a very complete single master shopping list. This way whether I am in a department store or a grocery store, I can pick up what they may carry on the list. This syncs with the computer so I am not recreating my master list each trip.
I always add a lot of odd things in as well that I might not need to purchase frequently: computer cartridge info, speciality light bulbs, etc. In the time between trips to the store, I mark what is running low/needed. At the store, I click off what is purchased and reset for the next trip.

I was just recently able to get a smartphone. I have found numerous apps that are almost all FREE and they help me track all of my food no matter where I am, manage my finances, exercise, make my shopping lists, organize my house, etc. If you have a smartphone, use it to its fullest capacity!
If you post pictures on any of the social media sites you need to be aware that those pictures e-mailed or uploaded from your smartphone could leak information that can threaten your safety or that of your children. 230 Please watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=sVUMBuJ0YY&feature=grec_ index.
