What I know from the past and am relearning is that every day that I make it out to walk, bike, hike, whatever, adds to "the routine". 5 or 6 straight days of walking could turn into months or years of it.

My father has always told me, its only 28 days to becoming a habit.
I use this in everything! I recently began waking up at 6 in the morning, which is a real success story for me, no I get up with out the use of the alarm clock! It works with everything, If you can stay focused on getting healthy for 28 days by the 29th it will become a regular thing!
When you do healthy things consistently - they will become habits.
That is how habits are formed: - eat your fruits and veggies (then you won't develop habit of eating junky foods) - exercise (then you won't be tired when you do everything - think positive (then you will believe that you can change)
