To break the boredom on my stationary bike, I wear headphones and "dance" to the beat of the music. I peddle at the speed of the beat of the song, I wave my arms in rhythm and "bounce" on the seat! I used to give up after 5 or 10 minutes from boredom, now I go 45 mins and enjoy the sweat!324
Whenever I notice that it's hard for me to motivate myself enough to stick to my exercise routine, I find that it's usually due to boredom. Never be afraid of swapping out one for of exercise for another... it beats doing nothing at all.
