Every Saturday night, I make my husband sit down with me and create a 'Dinner Menu' for the week. I make dinners according to the schedule and we're never sitting there wondering 'What'd you want for dinner???' I allow myself one night off from cooking dinner. I call it 'WHATEVER WEDNESDAY!"
Whatever Wednesday means that whatever you want to eat, make it yourself!
I have bowling league Wednesdays, so it's easier for me to relax before I go.We do have 'standard meals' that I make on a weekly basis. Taco Tuesdays (beef, chicken, ect.) Pasta Fridays

Hubbie and I plan meals for the week every Sun. Knowing what's for dinner all week allows time to defrost what's needed or buy it on our regular shopping trip rather than emergency trips. Knowing what's for dinner helps with lunch planning (leftovers) and keeping a calorie watch on the other meals
My then-5-year-old once told my husband at dinner, "Finish chewing what's in your mouth before you take another bite." What an a-ha! Often I am only almost-done chewing the previous forkful when I scoop up another bite. Being mindful of this really slows me down. I also put my fork down now & then.
