According to peoplespharmacy.com if you drink tart cherry juice after a workout it prevents post workout pain. It is also used to help with arthritis pain. If the juice is too "strong" , you can dilute it with water and get the same benefits from it.

NANASNOW, there is a difference between sweet cherries, and TART cherries.

Cherries are believed to have anti-inflammatory properties as well as reduce pain and swelling so this makes sense! I have dried tart cherries in freezer for making biscotti and scones, but I also have a Bing cherry tree for harvesting my own fresh cherries (some of which we freeze after washing and pitting). I also have a juicer. I could make juice then save the pulp for recipes! emoticon emoticon

Tart Cherries or juice is also great for people who suffer with Gout.

I am not sure I believe this, as I eat cherries pretty regularly and still experience pain.
