I go out with my friends at least once a week for drinks. But upon seeing that a couple of gin and tonics are like 300 calories, I've put the brakes on. Now, I'm sneaking a water on the rocks with a lime (looks just like a gin and tonic), and my waistline AND my wallet are thanking me.

this works for me...i like regular water from the tap(we have a pur filter and it makes a huge difference). i fill up four 16.9 oz plastic bottles and put them on the side of the frig. as i use one i take another bottle out. they are convenient and i stay consistent with the water intake.
if regular water isn't an option try seltzer or tonic or lemon water with some splenda.
I used to drink a lot of soda and wine (not anymore). Now, I allow myself one day a week (Thursdays) to have a substitute: tonic-water. I add one packet of Crystal Light Red Raspberry and Green Tea to the tonic and it's like drinking a sweet soda with about a third of the calories.
