Eat with moderation yes but don't deny yourself anything. This way you can keep the momentum going. And indeed track it for you to see if the calorie intake matches the satisfaction you get after eating it. But still don't deny it to yourself now only you know you can take it once a month instead of every day or every week. Goodluck! YOU CAN DO IT!
When you're craving something that you know isn't on your healthful eating plan, don't deny yourself! It's been proven that just three normal bites of what you are craving can satisfy your craving. You don't have to eat the whole candy bar, piece of pie, cake or dessert.-same goes for any food.
Don't let the three bite rule get out of hand. You can't eat ALL your three bites in one day! Well, actually you could if you keep it at or under your allotted calories. The first bite of something is the best, the second confirms it, and the third is to be savored-after that it's all down hill!
