Store brands are often very good, so give them a try! This is especially true of things like frozen fruits and veggies, staples like flour and milk, and cleaning products, where the taste or use doesn't vary much between brands anyway.

More Information:

House brands I like: 365 (Whole Foods), Wegman's, Up/Archer Farms (Target). Trader Joe's, of course, is the King of Store Brands, since nearly everything they sell is their own store brand!

  • i agree alot of the store brands taste as good & sometimes even better , not to mention the savings make alot of things taste better. - by SHAY72
  • I always look at the ingrediets when comparing store brand and name brand. Most of the time, they say exactly the same thing. The one thing I splurge on is cheese. No store brand makes anything that isn't processed or as good as the name brands. Trader Joes does have good cheeses though - by CASEYGOOSE
  • I agree. My DH works for Wonder Bread and their bakeries make and sell bread to WalMart, Costco and many other places. I'm sure lots of other companies do the same thing! - by PINKNFITCARLA
