I take classes in low impact aerobics, water aerobics, Zumba and Qigong. I am taking the classes with other people who are my age. This helps me to continue with the exercises having a suport group who are like me. I also have access to and use the fitness equipment on the days there are no classes.
My husband also goes with me to the exercise classes, it is wonderful for us to spend more time together and we are getting healthier at the same time. We meet new friends who have the same goals that we have.

If you live in a apartment complex or condo and they offer any fitness equipment, use it. Do not spend the extra money to join a fitness center just to have the ability to use the sauna or pool. They usually have Nautilus equipment , treadmills, and elliptical machines available 24 hours a day and it is a perk that was offered with the rent.
If you want to go swim or use the sauna at a community center it is cheaper than paying for a whole year of dues to a fitness center.
I grew tired of the whole treadmill and elliptical routine, so I joined a fitness center where they offer different classes everyday. My favorites are Cardio Drums, Cardio Dance, Kickboxing, and STEP. It takes the Ho Hum out of exercise!
Free Week Trial Passes, Free Day Passes, Free Workouts, Etc.
ALWAYS SAY YES to offers for "A free week" or "A free trial period" or "A free day pass" at a fitness center, gym or club!! Those offers are a fantastic chance to shake up your workout, freshen up your exercise routine and try different pieces of cardio or weight equipment you might not have known about. Even if you have to endure a sales pitch and have no intention to join that gym, it's a small price to pay for some otherwise FREE "zing" in your fitness routine!
Last year, when my gym membership ran out and I couldn't afford to renew it, I gathered up "Try us free for a week!" offers from at least 10 local fitness centers, and literally was able to work out at all different places around town for 2 months, for nothing! It was so fun -- and totally legal!
