Last year we had a horrific infestation of big ugly flies. It was night time and my husband noticed that the flies were attracted to the light. He had an idea: He turned off all the lights except the one in the dining room; then he went around the house and swooshed at the flies with a dish towel. All the flies headed for the light. Next he turned on the light in the kitchen and turned off the light in the dining room. He repeated the process, herding all the flies into the kitchen.
Then, he turned on the light in the mud room, and turned off the light in the kitchen. Same thing... the flies were all herded into the mud room. Finally he turned on back porch light and turned off the light in the mud room and herded all the flies right out the door! 104
Turn off everything with a lighted screen 2-3 hrs before bedtime. This includes, but is not limited to, TVs, computers, cellphones, iPads/iPods, etc. Also, try to eliminate all sources of light in your bedroom, like the LED alarm clock, the light from your charging cellphones, etc. All of these light sources interfere with the body's wake/sleep cycle & production od serotonin. Turning on the light if you go to the bathroom during the night also resets this cycle.
