Not only is cast iron a consistent way to add iron to your diet & a great way to exercise your arm muscles as you lift the heavy pans but it also saves you money on energy. Cast iron needs less temperature to heat up, heats up evenly and retains heat long after you turn of the stove, saving energy.

I use a cast iron skillet in the oven for easy "skillet meals" - Plus, portion control is already included!! Lay your seasoned meat in the bottom of a cast iron skillet, surround by veggies seasoned how you like - roast in the oven or poach as desired. 250
1.Remove perspiration stains - Add four tablespoons of salt to one quart of hot water and sponge the fabric with the solution until stains fade. 2.Brighten colors - Wash colored curtains or washable fiber rugs in a saltwater solution to brighten the colors. Brighten faded rugs & carpets by rubbing them briskly with a cloth that has been dipped in a strong saltwater solution & wrung out. (Con't) 432
3.Clean a gunky iron bottom - Sprinkle a little salt on a piece of paper & run the hot iron over it to remove rough, sticky spots.
since i was never one for using much oil (i have a finicky stomach), my best find was a griddle that spans 2 burners. i grill like there's no tomorrow.. fish, ribs, chicken breasts, steaks, eggplant slices. if you eat it, it could be grilled. you can stir-fry on it too!
the heavier the iron, the better.
