Let Them Have Chocolate Cake....



and eat it too! Instead of using the egg, oil and water, next time oyu make a chocolate cake use a small can of pumpkin mix instead! Its still moist and does NOT taste like pumpkin. My 8yr old and bf can't tell the difference!

  • I am gonna have to try this! I have also heard of using a diet soda in place of the oil and eggs. Diet colas are good for chocolate cakes and diet lemon lime drinks are good for white and yellow cake mixes! - by DOWNHOMEDIVA

  • i love this trick but can't find canned pumpkin anywhere. it's all but disappeared off the shelves of every grocery store in massachusetts. i was told there's a shortage because last years crops were so bad. hopefully this years harvest will better because i miss my pumpkin!! - by NEVERNAKED

    This cake is so good that I can only make it when there will be friends here to help me eat it (or I want to eat it all myself). A dollop of lite cool whip and it's pure heaven. Actually better than following the recipe on the box -super moist. - by KYMANN1

  • Great idea. You can also omit the egg. oil and water and use a 12 ounce can of any flavor of diet soda with any boxed cake mix. - by ESMERALDA1969
