As I get older I do think about the inevitable & do I really want my child to have to deal with all my junk? I have her keepsakes boxed, when she gets married it will go to her and she gets to decide what to keep. That will be even less stuff in my house. Hope this helps some one!

I am working that right now. I tried to have a yard sale at my house and didn't too good. I need to take it all to my parents house and have one there. My daughters close seem to go quicker at their house.

We recently moved to our new house after living in the same house for 27 years. I too had a mega garage sale. Most of what I didn't sell I loaded into a customer's truck so she could have a garage sale of her own. It sure felt good to get rid of a lot of "stuff". Now I think twice about whether I want to buy something and bring it into the house.

The Less I have
The less I have, the less I have to clean.
As we declutter different areas of our lives we will find we have less "stuff", this results in needing to clean less :)
From book, 'Out of the Crayon Box' (living vibrant, organized lives). They have a website. Their philosophy is "Do more living, not more work!". They simplify everything into 6 steps (Declutter first; then Organize, Maintain, Observe, Refrain and Enjoy!). Biggest steps Declutter & Organize, are easy the way they do it. Then it's putting things back where they go, with a simple (not complex or tedious) system which they teach. 'Observe' teaches to evaluate what works for you personally.
