If you find yourself consuming too many calories in the evening by snacking, don't try to just stop snacking completely. Form a game plan. Think of something sensible that is also a treat and save it to eat before bedtime. Soon you will find that you have broken that cycle of snacking!

I make a point of having 1/2 orange and 1/2 apple with each breakfast. Or I cut fruit into oatmeal. I like fruit but find it hard to get in 3 or more servings per day. When I start with fruit in the morning, it motivates me to eat smart rest of day.
At my health club they provide a fruit after you workout. I'm ready to eat my second fruit of the day. By night I'm ready to finish my evening with the required veg and fruit.
