What has been helping me with losing weight is to be able to visualise how much I've lost (and need to go)... To do this I visualise it in terms of cans of coke (or any canned drink)...
Most are 330ml which equates to 330g (in the UK anyway), so it's 3 cans per kg - or if you're using lbs, it's 1lb = 1 and a third cans cans...
So when you 'only' lose just under 1lb in a week, it's quite a lot, when you actually pick up a can. 2lb is 2.5 cans, etc, etc.
I've been keeping a grocery sack in the pantry, & gradually adding items for the Food Bank. When it's full, I'll drive it over & dontate. Using the ice cream, candy, chips, extra portions, and treat money I would have been spending on myself is pretty painless to share. When shopping, I grab something healthy for the bag, like canned tuna, soups, canned beans, etc. It puts a smile on my face, and hopefully on someone else's, while shrinking the waistline.
Don't have and dumbells at home? You can use bottles of water or canned foods (EX:veggies). My dumbells tend to grow legs around my house with having 6 kids living here. Rather then taking the time to try and locate them every day or using it as an excuse "I don't have any so I can't workout today", grab a couple bottles of water or cans of veggies and throw your excuses our the window!!!225
