Learn how to ignore the ups and downs of weight fluctuation. Weigh yourself every day, and use a moving average to compute a trend line. Your weight may fluctuate by 5 or more pounds per day, and your true weight loss will be lost in this fluctuation. A moving trend line makes your loss/gain clear!

Do a Google search for "the hackers diet" to learn about moving trend lines.

    I didn't really know that your weight could fluctuate THAT MUCH each day - I was feeling rather discouraged today because while I have been working very hard for 2 weeks to LOSE weight (started at 172, got to 166.5, now at 169) I have 'gained' back 2.5 lbs - I will now know to chalk it up to the fluctuation, and wait to see what my curve is. Thanks for this information!!!

    I lost my First 50 pounds and felt that I was on m way. However I have now gained 30 back. I need to find my fluctuation point and that may help me feel better. I never have stopped tiring. And I feel that is important never to give up on your self. You are always the most important!!! emoticon
