When I make soups and spaghetti sauce and Chili I make extra and freeze them in freezer bags. After they are frozen you can stand them up or leave them lying down. I also do this with fruit when it is on sale. I can have fruit year round.

Really Limiting My Prepackaged Dinners!
It occured to me yesterday as I was looking at the frozen food section in Henry's, that I don't do alot of prepackaged frozen foods anymore! I still have some frozen foods stocked in the freeezer as now we have t-ball practice AT DINNERTime :( And can't always have dinner ready when we get home!But I really have learned some NEW HEALTHY EATING HABITS from SP and one is to REALLY LOOK at the cals on the back! The foods look SO APPEALING,but many times the frozen foods have way too much fat ...

This time of year there are usually great sales on turkey and ham. So I buy as much as I can, cook, slice, put portions in the freezer for later use. This way, I have saved money and can eat healthy meats at a later date. Since they are already cooked, preparing them for a meal takes less time.
