I love Fresh Flowers all over the House---they give a really cheerful feeling and add colour to the ambience. To keep these from wilting and losing their freshness, add 0.5 tsp.of Sugar to the Water in the Flower Pot before arranging the Flowers in it.The Flowers will stay fresh for a longer period than otherwise.
In the Spring, you can pick dandelion greens, which are best before the flowers bloom. You can add them to salads for a slightly bitter taste, stir-fry, or boil them. This is free food, and very high in vitamins A and C! If you are really adventurous, pick the whole plant--the bloomed flowers can be batter fried, the flower buds can be pickled, or boiled and served with butter, and the roots can be dried in the oven and ground into a coffee-like drink.

Just be sure not to pick ones that are near a roadway (have been exposed to a lot of car exhaust), or have been chemically treated. Google some recipes, and enjoy!
