For the same price as a bunch of cut fresh herbs at the supermarket, you can buy a small potted herb plant at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Keep it on your kitchen windowsill and use when you're cooking. Fresh herbs add so much flavor that you won't even miss the salt and fat you cut out of the recipe!

Skip the dried herbs and spices and go fresh ones, your taste buds will thank you. Sadly, fresh herbs at the store do not last long and they are rather expensive. So I've started a windowsill herb garden and grow my own oregano, chives, and basil. It's super cheap and so easy to take care of.
You can also freeze herbs if you need to, as the flavor holds up well. No more tasteless bottled seasonings for me!
I've been really enjoying my all veggie soup. It's been great to have on hand for right before dinner. I find if I eat a satisfying bowl of it I don't want as many carbs for dinner. It's working out great!
