I treat my body and my mind as team mates. My mind makes the decisions and my body carries them out. At the end of the day, if I have made bad decisions (not exercising, eating poorly, etc) I mentally apologize to my body for not taking care of it properly and not giving it what it needs. If I have made healthy decisions, I praise myself for being strong. Sounds strange, but it keeps me accountable for my actions.
My secret is many little changes, instead of focusing on a big overwhelming goal I have been slowing it down and making every decision very calculated. There's two things i'd love to accomplish; be able to confidently wear anything I want (pin-up clothes) and make it on a roller derby team. I just visualize every decision I make as a step back or forth towards my goal
