Three things to know when you are about to make a food choice; 1) what is the portion size, 2) what are the calories per serving, and 3) what other choices are there.
This moment of thought has saved me a few times from a poor choice. Now, I try to keep some other of the number three's around. At work, I keep Weight Watchers Blasts and some fruit and some, (but very few) nuts.

Whenever I pass a fast food place, I say to myself "There's another poison factory!" I used to get breakfast and lunch as these poison factories, but now I avoid them because they were poisoning me. I feel so much better and so does my checking account.
