How To Peel A Hard Boiled Egg

Members Were Sparked
This Sparked Me!

I recently seen a video about how to peel a boiled egg. Once it has cooked drain the water and shake the eggs back and forth in the pan. Then add cold water to the pan. In a few minutes the peel should come right off without taking half the egg with it.

I have chickens, so my secret to peeling FRESH eggs need a regular sized spoon. Tap the spoon on the end of the egg (find where the air is) peel back some just enough shell to slide spoon in between the egg and shell. Turn the spoon around. Its magic. The shell will come right off!

Older eggs are better for hard-boiling. The shells should come off of them easily.
