I got this idea when I saw a curse jar on the desk of someone I was visiting. Instead of putting in a dollar every time I curse, I draw a paper from the jar I keep on my desk. I list things that I can do from work in a quick few minutes, like run 2 flights of steps, do 20 sit ups, etc.
I don't use it just when I curse (which I try not to do much of), but any time I have a negative thought about myself... like "I could lose this weight if I wasn't so lazy", "It's all my fault I look like this", etc.

I picked up a couple of little jars at the dollar store along with some decrative glass beads. I labeled one jar with - pounds to lose and the other jar with - pounds lost. I filled the first jar with as many beads as pounds I need to lose. Now whenever I lose a pound I move a bead into the pounds lost jar. I sit the jars on my bathroom counter and it is really motivating to want to fill up my pounds lost jar!
When I use a coupon, I put the face value of the coupon in 2 different jars. Sometimes, when I use a lot of coupons, I have to "save up" my change to put it in the jars. I then use the one jar money for Christmas gifts, and put the other change jar money in the bank. A little adds up!!
