What is the definition of treading water do you think I feel I might need to raise my body real high in the air or something or are you just keeping your chin out of the water? I just did 40 min straight tonight!

Exercise in a pool
Water workouts are amazing and much easier on the joints. In the summer it's a great place to workout whether inside or outside. Just treading water burns an amazing amount of calories. Use styrofoam weight for a great upper body workout because the water resistance really makes a difference.
Even when it seems like it's too hot outside to do anything productive...there is always a pool open somewhere. Swimming is a great way to burn calories without much effort. Just treading water helps burn those pesky calories in a jiffy. I went swimming for an hour yesterday then tracked it on here and it ended up being over 1000 calories burned. Last one in is a rotten egg!
If you get bored swimming laps in your pool just keep moving. Jump around, swing your arms, jog in place, tread water. Don't just jump in to cool off - move.
