I know it sounds weird, but I carry a jar of baby food with a plastic spoon in my purse to keep on hand if I'm out and about and get hungry in between meals. It's small, sealed, and ready to go--and it does save me from feeling like I have to find a fast food drive through.
We feed our babies the best for a good start--so it's good nutrition, low calorie, approximately 100 calories. Oatmeal and peaches almost always hits the spot!

If you have a baby that is starting to get solids all starter baby food is healthy. So if your baby is having puree mango for snack then you have a fresh mango as well. It really helps if you make your own baby food while doing this. This helps me get back to the basics of food and clean eating.
Whether you're making your own baby food or trying to figure out what to do with the remaining food in the jar you just opened, get shallow specialty-shaped silicon ice cube trays to freeze the baby food. Silicon makes it easier to get the food out of the tray & you don't have to worry about BPA.
You also end up with lots of fun shaped ice trays for summer drinks when you're done with freezing baby food.
Puree the adult foods (not the spicy ones) that you make in a crock pot, like soups and stews or your cooked fresh veggies. I use a blender. Pour the puree into ice cube trays and heat for your little one for a delicious homemade meal. Beats the jars of baby food every time. My baby loved them! And it saves a bundle of money!
