Pour boiling water over old fashioned oats and let it sit a bit. When you come back to it, it will be cooked, If you add some raisins or dried cranberries with a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg before adding the water, it's especially tasty!

I put 1/3 cup skim milk and 1/3 cup water with 1/3 cup oats & cook in a 1000W microwave for 2 minutes. It comes out lovely and creamy. I stir in 1 tsp of brown sugar for sweetness - yum!

I put Soy milk in mine then cook in the Microwave for 2.30 min on medium heat. Than add cinnamon and plain low fat yogurt. Also fresh or dried fruit A double dose of calcium, for a non milk person.

Easy Oatmeal
I make Oatmeal every morning. I use the Old Fashioned Quaker Oats but I still microwave it. I use 1/2 cup Oats and 1 cup water and cook for 2 minutes. I have a canister that I store the Oatmeal in and I also keep a 1/2 cup measuring cup in there too..makes preparing it that much quicker.
