When I run uphill, I want to give up too easily, so yesterday I stopped thinking about walking and thought of a time I hauled a (big) spilled kayaker out of the lake. It was a good a feeling and it reminded me that negativity guarantees failure. Guess what - it did the trick!

make a list of times people counted on you and you delivered - whether it was a report, staying late, soothing tears, listening to someone's bad day...focus on you as the hero...for 30 seconds.

    Today when I was exercising I realized that it wasn't nearly as difficult as it has been previously. Looking back made me want to go even harder!
