In the past, I would cook more food than we needed and it would be eaten. Now we are cooking the number of servings we need and adding other healthy things to fill out the meal. The end result is we are getting full on less food.
For example, a whole bag of Ore-Ida fries, or eight biscuits for four people. This is particularly helpful for pasta, which often has a serving size based on uncooked weight.

Easy measureing. Since servings are not always easy, for things like cereal, I keep the proper serving size measuring cup in the container. I get the exact serving size without having to pour into a measuring cup.
You get the exact serving size rather than having more and gaining weight from improper serving sizes.
Good Morning All. I know we all Love to try new recipes and posting them to SparkRecipes.com...PLEASE When entering a new recipe, put the serving SIZE (eg. 1 cup or 4 oz etc..). It's quite difficult to make a recipe and then divide it by the number of servings to find out the serving size. We all try to watch our serving sizes and acturally measure them out all the time. It would be so helpful to include the serving sizes in your recipes for all of us. Thank You.You are all the BEST....OXOX
I use snack size zipper bags to make single serving size packages of snack foods such as pretzels. Since my family doesn't like brown rice, I cook a large amount and freeze single serving sizes for me. I do the same with cold cuts
