Second hand or home made Christmas presents/Birthday gifts
This year I thought as a challenge- being inspired by going green and saving money - to only give second hand or home made Christmas presents. For example I have a couple of lovely glasses I donīt need, I can fill them up with home made fudge and give away.. If you have kids you have plenty of time until Christmas to find what they want on ebay or similar places.
1. Park further out at the grocery market and walk if you can. 2. Get the recycling bags from the shop (Krogers gives you a percentage off the cost - some shops) when you use them, also easier to carry and use as weights when taking them home to unload. 3. Remember to recycle your water bottles and cans and save the environment along with your other products when trash time comes around. GO GREEN!
4. IF you garden, use the water containers over top of seedlings to protect from weather. 5. Freeze grease and liquids and mix with foods for birds. While you exercise you can watch them outside your window.
Nothing ground-breaking, but... Spend the time researching tax breaks. If you give to a charity, you do a good deed and you qualify for tax write-offs. There are also tax write offs for going Green, such as trading in your "clunker", etc. Finding these tax breaks can save you some serious cash.
