Yes - I have been discouraged when having set myself a fitness goal, I go on a forum and see my goal is tiny compared to others. But I have learnt that as long as I am improving myself, that is all that matters. Rome was not built in a day!!

Been working on a training program and have to do it my way rather than just doing what everyone wants. I follow my coaches instructions rather than worrying about what other people think.

So important! I once spent a month hiking with a large group - many of whom were much more fit than I was - and my stubborn tendency to keep up ended up taking me out of commission thanks to tendinitis. On the trail and in the long run, your own pace will always be the best choice!
