We've had ants a couple of times - first time was really bad (they came in while we were away on holiday). We bought some plug-in things which emit an ultrasonic sound - takes a few days to work fully, but has kept them all out of the kitchen until this year. I've relocated one of the plug-ins so it's at a better height for the affected area. They seem to be pretty well all gone again. And no dead bodies to clear up
