Some days when I do not have the energy to do my cardio/exercise bike I tell myself at least do 10 minutes. Then it turns out once I get the first 10 minutes out of the way I can finish my daily goal even if I have to say to myself "just 1 minute more"

    I do this, I say I only feel like walking on the treadmill for 10 minutes, but then I see, I didn't walk enough so I say, 5 more minutes and I just keep going till I get tired.

    You are so right. It takes so much motivation to start, but once I get started, I'm on a roll and manage to get at least 30 minutes done.

    I agree. There are just days when you don't feel like exercise, and then you just have to do it. If telling yourself you're going to do a short workout works, good. The trick for me is that I ALWAYS feel better after I've exercised.

    This is oh so true for me. I specially have to trick myself into starting with just 15 minutes of Elliptical and then end up with an hours worth :) emoticon

    OMG i do that as well i will tell myself "just do 30" (ellptical) by time i get to 30 im soo warmed up up that the rest of the 35 minutes flies by!!

    PEPE865-my thoughts exactly ! I like to walk but there are some days that I wish I could click my heels & be done with it ! I always feel sooo much better after I'm done & don't regret that push to get myself out the door. emoticon

    I do this with my walking. Some days especially after work, I just want to sit and never move again. Then I put on my walkers and go. The 1st half mile is torture but then my goal of 3 miles is done and I'm still on the road looking for more destinations. It's not unusual to add another 3 and have to race the sun home.
