Weight maintenance comes from consistency - making the right-for-you choices every day.
This means living mindfully and understanding that decision-making is critical. Avoid saying "whatever!" Instead, ask yourself, "does this choice add or detract from my health?" And remember, you're worth the best!!
Don't leave weight maintenance as an afterthought! Start researching and planning for weight maintenance before or while losing weight. Approximately how many calories will you need while maintaining? What kind of exercise plan will you do? How will you manage cravings? Having a plan well ahead of time will make us better prepared for setbacks we may encounter once the enthusiasm of weight loss wears off.
I learned a lot about losing weight with Weight Watchers and a little about maintenance. I came to SparkPeople and learned more about losing and a lot more about weight maintenance. I got The Beck Diet Solution and am learning many more skills in dealing with food and thinking like a thin person.
I lost weight by eating frequently and never allowing my hunger to get too great. I'm thinking more like a thin person now that I am learning to tolerate some hunger and learning I don't need to give in to cravings.
