Every day when you get up and say that today is the day that I will eat healthy or exercise and then you don't you lie to yourself. Eventually we stop believing liars and as a result, over time you stop believing in yourself. Make one promise today and keep it.
MORE INFORMATION:
Decide which small promise that you can make today, ie no food after 7pm; exercise today, no alcohol or drink your water. Just make a promise and keep it for a day. It gets easier and you start to believe in yourself. Then weight loss follows.

You are so right. I used to wake up excited to read my Spark e-mail and track my calories. But now, it seems little ridiculous. The beer takes me over my calorie budget all the time. My problem is that the clubs are where I meet my friends and get to socialize. I need find other ways to get together with other adults. And as implied, I'm no longer excited about tracking food and fitness, or weigh ins.

Excuses can be another way you lie to yourself - we deserve more than that be be honest with yourself, love yourself, make healthy choices.
I have learned to stop believing the lies I was telling myself when I slip, that "I'll always fail", "Here we go again", "You will always be fat", "You are too old"..on and on..all lies...counter the lies with the truth..you can do it all when you believe in yourself!
