Instead of using caffeine to keep yourself awake, trying doing a short (maybe 10 minute) workout. Because of my new life schedule, I' m having trouble staying awake to get everything done. Instead of buying a coffee yesterday, I did a 10 minute cardio workout, and it helped me stay awake for the duration of my work shift and my drive home - and I never had to deal with that caffeine crash!
Obviously, getting enough sleep is what we want to do; however, in times when that's not necessarily what we are able to do, why not do something that won't lift us up and then have us crash a little later?
Every morning, before I get out of bed, I sit in a quiet yoga pose for 15 minutes and visualize my day. I congratulate myself on yesterday's successes, forgive the slips and commit to my plan today. I see myself preparing breakfast and packing my lunch. I breathe deeply and get calm. 135
