Food does not have vocal cords. It cannot 'call' me from the cupboard/freezer/fridge. Why should I 'love' certain foods - they don't love me back. Once I put food in its proper context, I can enjoy it, but not give it unnecessary power over me.
Saying, "Oh, I LOVE pizza, I LOVE cheese" is a habit leftover from my dramatic teen years. I must have said it millions of times in my life. I heard myself say it again a couple of weeks ago and it was like I heard it for the first time. I LOVE my husband. I don't LOVE food in that way.

I only go to the grocery store once every two weeks, and I only buy what is on my list now. I have cut my grocery bill in half, because I am not stopping at the grocery store for 1-2 items and end up buying 10 items, several times a week.
I make a list of meals for two weeks at a time and that keeps me from stopping for fast food.
