Getting my kids involved has been the best thing I've done in my journey to get fit and healthy. They are so encouraging and so willing to help! When I started running, I would bring them down to the track with me, and when they weren't tryng to run with me, I could hear them cheering me on!

To get my kids involved in their nutrition, I challenged my children, now 14,12 and 9 to see who could come up with the most nutritional meal. Each kid gets to cook one meal per week and we have an pride wall to show off the kids favorite recipes. We've done this for 10 years and the kids love choosing some of their meals.
I have a 10 and 13 year old daughter. To get them more involved in healthy eating and cooking, I have them each plan a meal a week. They make the shopping list, help me pick the food out and then do most (if not all) of the cooking. It's been a great experience for them, and they are really proud of their accomplishments and all the praise they get. Tonight, my little one made roasted carrots, parsnips and brussels sprouts to go with the tilapia she wanted to make!
