Fill a mug full of water and microwave it for 1 minute. Then take out the mug and put in your bag of popcorn. Set to desired time. The "pre-heated" microwave will leave fewer unpopped kernels in the bag, and more popcorn for you to enjoy!

I have given up on microwave popcorn due to the hulls - gone back to air popped with a no calorie butter flavor spray.

I was also taught to run the bag on defrost for 30 secs to help the kernels and oil separate before starting the popping process.

No need to buy microwave popcorn. Put a 1/4 cup of popcorn in a lunch paper bag and microwave for around a minute and 33 seconds. Will vary on the microwave and there you have popcorn. Save the bag and reuse last quite a few cycles. Less expensive and better for you!
Instead of microwave popcorn which often has a lot of fat, chemicals for butter-flavor, and is quite expensive, it's easy to pop corn on the stove. You don't need a special popcorn popper. Just a covered pot, two tablespoons of canola oil, and 1/4 cup of popcorn over medium-high heat. Remove from heat as soon as the popping almost stops. Salt and Enjoy !
Jolly Time Popcorn 100 Calorie Microwave popcorn has dextrose and Malitol in it. Tast is awful. May SPIKE YOUR BLOOD SUGAR, it did mine. Dont buy this! Isn't America Fat enough...who puts sugar in popcorn anyway? They do....YUCK!
