I keep a stack of pennies next to my water glass (started with 6, currently 7, soon to be 8). Each time I drink a glass of water, I move one penny to the other side of the glass. Once I've moved all my pennies, I've gotten my minimum water requirement for the day, without having to keep count.
This is especially motivating if you tend to be a visual person.

Keep your water in the most beautiful, pitcher you can find. It will serve as a visual reminder each time you open your fridge to drink your water. It also lets everyone friends and family know that drinking your water is important and it takes center stage. P.S. its also a wonderful way to get your kids to drink more water, in my house everyone loves to drink out of the pretty pitcher and my kids even refill it when it is empty or remind me to.274
When I get to work in the morning I put four bottles of water (8 glasses) on my desk where I can see them, having them in front of me is a great visual reminder to drink my water. And when it's time to go home the water is gone, and the weight is coming off!!! Woohoo!!! =)
