I teach high school and bring my lunch evry day. Before I leave the house in the morning, I make sure to log in and track my breakfast and what I packed for lunch. This way, I know exactly how much leeway I have for later. If I need a snack, I know that it is already added into my daily calories; if I did not eat everything, I can just edit the entry when I get home.306
Knowing what you are going to eat day to day really helps. I have found that my breakfasts, snacks & lunches tend to be the same variation of a few good-old stand-bys, within a certain caloric/healthful range - and at the same time during each day. It also made it easier to make tracking easier by plugging in those stand-by meals into the "group section" of the nutrition tracker. One click tracking at it's finest!
Knowing those few meals and their caloric contents meant that by dinner (whatever it was going to be) I pretty much could deal with whatever we were going to have...wether it be take-out or homecooked....it gave me a little leeway to tweak the dinner to fit into my nutrition tracker range.
