Just read in Yoga Journal where the author mentioned she got back on track by hearing a teacher talk about how to "place the body" in a certain posture vs. "your body"...she thought about this when dealing with food cravings and emotional eating. Does "the body" need the extra serving, or do "I need" it? If it's "I" then consider taking another look what's behind the craving and deal with the underlying issue first...if it's "the body" truly then nourish it and move on...this really helped me !
Thanks to the state of California, all chain restaurants have to give nutritional info to consumers. Even if you live elsewhere (like me!!), you can generally access info at restaurant websites. Went out to Red Lobster last night, and took a look at the website before leaving home to make a couple of choices before dinner - kept me within my calories for the day!! www.dwlz.com also has nutritional info for many restaurants.
