When I get a craving at 10pm, I take that as a sign that I'm just tired and need to go to bed. I know for a fact that I need sleep a whole lot more than I need the calories.

After daily weighing for a while, I've really noticed that I lose weight after a good night's sleep. So to avoid night time eating, DH & I go to bed earlier. We say, "Off to lose some weight" as we go to bed. I used to hate going to bed, now I am happy to take myself off.

This helps with night time eating, too. If you want to eat at night after dinner, consider going to bed instead. It seems drastic, but I find it works really well.
