This Sparked Me!

I used to think "Oh no...I HAVE to exercise today to reach my weight goals" but when someone suggested I think of it as "I DESERVE to exercise today" it changed my whole perspective and for the first time in my life I began exercising regularly and loved it! That was 2 and a half years ago.

I've had such thoughts before, but the dominant thought has been that I have to exercise to reach my goal. Now, I will try to think of it more often as "I DESERVE to exercise". Thanks!!!!

What a fantastic secret! I love the thought of "deserving" to exercise -- deserving it for yourself. I can't wait to share this thought with friends! emoticon

I have always, always, always hated exercise, beginning back in public school when I was taller and bigger than everyone else in my class. Gym class was something to be endured, not enjoyed.
But now I'm learning to say that exercise is something that I GET to do. I'll think about using the word DESERVE. That's also a positive way of thinking about it.

Looking at things in a new way can transform your attitude. I learned this 40 years ago when my first son was born. I resented getting up early to care for him until my mother said "I love this early time when you and the baby are alone together."

Looking at it this way makes me change my perspective! LOL!

Instead of telling myself that I HAVE to workout, I tell myself that I GET to workout! It is indeed a privilege to take care of my body, and I am happy that I have the opportunity to do so!
