I have been measuring everything I eat since I started on this journey. The other night, I even ate 1/4 cup of Rum Raisin ice cream out of a 1/4 cup measuring cup. It really helps me to see what actual portions are, and helps me to feel completely in control of what I am eating.

I keep measuring cups, measuring spoons, etc., in a bowl in on my countertop. This makes it easy for me to find the measurer I want, without digging through drawers or dish drainers for them. It makes meal and snack prep much faster for me. A food scale in a handy spot also helps!
Using measuring cups, spoons, and a food scale help keep calorie and nutrient counts more accurate on days that I use the food tracker.
When I'm at work and need to measure out my creamer, I don't like to trust me just eyeballing it on a regular spoon so I measure it using a dosing cup. Each time I get a dosing cup with liquid medicine, I keep it. I can use it instead of measuring spoons. It's very convenient and I don't have to buy another set of measure spoons.271
