We all have those time when the unexpected comes up and we didn't properly plan ahead. Often time we feel like we blew it. However, that isn't the case. One meal will not destroy everything you have been working hard for. Go into the next meal the way you normally would.

More Information:

By taking it one meal at a time you don't allow yourself to "blow it" for the rest of the day or week. It is easier to recover from one bad meal then it is to recover from a weeks worth.

  • Since slip ups are inevitable, what I have learned, especially here on the site...is that I don't have to wait until a new day or week to "start over"! What's wrong with now??? All good decisions and positive attitudes build on top of one another. So what if I slip and eat a box of candy for mid morning snack... sure, I will be over on my calories, etc for the day, BUT I don't have to compound that over and over with further bad food decisions...instead, I plan and eat my normal meals the rest of the day...and then I can say to myself... yes you had a "treat" and it was a big one...but wow...you got right back into the "eating right" rhythm! • I agree that taking one meal at a time does work; and so it is with exercise, and almost anything concerning our fitness and health journey.

Remember not to beat yourself up when you slip up...just try again. God gave someone the ingenuity to create erasers because we all can make a mistake.

  • So true. And don't eat it if you find out you don't like it. Why waste calories on something you don't like. - by GERRIT2
